Sootinai was originally composed of smaller smoke spirits which Abis Mal bought from an unknown source. He tricked Abis Mal into releasing him in small quantities until he had enough power to merge together, becoming Sootinai. Sootinai can absorb the smoke from fires, making him himself larger and more powerful. His name derives from the phrase "Soot in Eye". Aladdin and the others managed to defeat him by soaking him wet and Haroud collected his remains. Abis Mal tried to resurrect him again but Sootinai emerged and scared the two away. It is then revealed to be Genie playing a prank.
