- It seems to be based on the Orthros of Greek mythology, a monstrous dog said to have two heads. However it is unknown if this creature is an actual Orthros or simply a magical creature manifested by Mirage as Genie did not remember it as being a part of the path to the tree.
- Two-Headed Dog is somewhat similar to Dioskilos from 1981 movie Clash of the Titans.
